our class got to take a private hard hat tour of the abandoned immigrant hospital at ellis island... the contagious diseases ward was the most beautiful and haunting space I've ever seen. other highlights included a breezy ferry ride, the statue of liberty, the immigrant museum spoiled by thousands of shrieking third graders, and ghost stories about the hospital and morgue!
